ShaVaree Lacy
Executive Director of Student Life
My name is ShaVaree and I serve as the Executive Director for Student Life. My wife and I moved to La Porte in August of 2020, right in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was a challenging time, but through faith and perseverance, new opportunities arose. While working at La Porte First Church, and incredible opportunity presented itself: the chance to connect with students directly on campus, meeting them exactly where they are.
We launched Student Life to provide a space that offers more than just activities; it's about hope. It's a place where students can have fun, feel seen, heard, and above all, valued. Our vision is to create an environment where every student knows they matter and where their voices can thrive. Student Life has become a cornerstone for those seeking connection, belonging and purpose during some of the most formative years of their lives.

Tracie Tevault
Associate Director of Student Life
Hello! I'm Tracie, and I joined the Student Life team in 2024. Growing up in La Porte, I developed a deep appreciation for community and connection, which fuels my passion for supporting students. I believe wholeheartedly that every student should know they are loved and that they were created with a unique purpose. I strive to create an environment where students feel valued and empowered to explore their potential. I’m excited to be part of this journey and to help guide students as they navigate their paths. Let’s connect and make a positive impact together!
Brandon Brewer
Volunteer
I volunteer with Student Life because I enjoy being able to serve students. I remember being a teenager and the great impact it made on me when someone showed up for me. I want to show up for our students.
Melissa Crutcher
Community Advisory Volunteer
I serve as a community advisor for Student Life because through my own experiences I know that there are students who just need to find their own way, but impactful connections and enlightenment can sometimes show up where you least expect them. Seeing the participation grow from a small group at the Academy of Viola Dewalt to all secondary campuses across LPISD, hearing the stories of students who just need a welcome and safe space with others to share or sit quietly, and knowing that when they walk out they have been heard, prayed for, and supported where possible continually delights me and ignites my faith. Great things are happening here!
Veronica Castro
Community Advisory Volunteer
Mrs. Veronica has been serving in youth ministry for over 15 years. Sharing her own testimonies of God’s faithfulness in her life is a passion of hers, because she desires to let everyone know, God is for you, right where to are at! Another passion of hers and her husband’s is serving the community and anywhere God leads them through missions, Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone”. She believes the love and compassion of Christ is what leads Mrs. Veronica to the students of Student Life! Each week she shares her heart with students by serving and pouring into them as the Lord leads her.
Between her beautiful blended family and the many the Lord has put in her life she is a Bulldog momma through and through!
