While we strive to keep things consistent across all our campuses, each location has its own unique layout. To get a better idea of what to expect, choose a campus below to view a typical meeting setup.

- Arrive at the campus by 11:00 am and check in at the front office.
- Head to the Large Group Room for prayer and to ensure the room is set up for our students.
- Set up the Student Life banner and begin playing the Student Life Playlist on the speaker.
- Place Bibles and Student Life shirts on the table where they are visible to students.
- Students will be sent to the Large Group Room after they have gotten their lunch.
- As they come in, greet them warmly (high fives, fist bumps, compliments, etc.).
- Encourage students to sit near each other and consider sitting with someone new to build relationships.
- Opening Question – Begin with a question related to that week’s topic. This helps set the tone and gives students a chance to share.
- Student-Led Discussion – Allow students to guide the conversation by asking questions that matter to them. This may take time to develop as relationships and trust grow.
- Encouragement & Engagement – Reward students who engage and ask questions with fruit snacks, candy, stickers, etc.. This helps build momentum and makes participation fun.
- Wrap-Up & Transition – End the conversation a few minutes early. Send students back to the cafeteria 3 minutes before the next bell so teachers are not waiting on Student Life attendees.
- Foster belonging — make sure no student sits alone unless they want to.
- Encourage curiosity — affirm every question, even if it feels small or off-topic.
- Model respect — listen well, don’t interrupt, and guide with patience and kindness.
- Keep the focus on Christ’s love — through your words, your encouragement, and your presence.

- Arrive at the campus by 8:30 am and check in at the front office.
- Head to the cafeteria for prayer and to begin setting up food for students.
- Set up the Student Life banner and begin playing the Student Life Playlist on the speaker.
- Place Bibles and Student Life shirts on the table where they are visible to students.
- As students come in, greet them with energy and warmth (high fives, fist bumps, compliments, etc.).
- Direct students to sit in the middle section of the cafeteria first. If full, they may fill the remaining seats.
- Welcome & Devo – Once students are seated, the Student Life leader will share that week’s devotional thought. Keep it short, clear, and engaging.
- Food & Conversation – After the devo, students will get food. While they eat:
- Adults should sit among the students and engage in conversation.
- Use the provided questions as conversation starters.
- Allow students to lead the conversation — listen well and affirm their thoughts.
- Offer insight, encouragement, spiritual guidance, and wisdom when it’s natural.
- Always be respectful, even if a student uses language or expresses doubt. This is a safe space for them.
- Be present — put phones away and focus on the students.
- Model grace — don’t correct behavior harshly; instead, guide with patience and love.
- Encourage respect among students and redirect gently if needed.
- Show Christ’s love in everything — words, body language, and attitude.
Wednesday Lunch- La Porte High School

- Arrive at the campus by 11:00 am and sign in at the portables on the right-hand side of the building (beside B Building).
- Head to the lecture hall (or assigned space) for prayer and to ensure the room is ready for students.
- Set up the Student Life banner and begin playing the Student Life Playlist on the speaker.
- Place Bibles and Student Life shirts on a visible table.
- Set up snacks for students to enjoy during the meeting.
- Students will get their lunch and then join the Student Life meeting during their assigned lunch period.
- As they arrive, greet them warmly (high fives, fist bumps, compliments, etc.).
- Engage in simple conversation (“how is your day going, what is the best thing happening this week, etc.”).
- Welcome & Small Devo – Start with a 5–7 minute devotional to set the tone and encourage reflection.
- Snacks & Conversation – Students can enjoy snacks while interacting with volunteers.
- Ask guiding questions to encourage sharing, but let students lead the conversation.
- Offer spiritual insight, encouragement, and guidance naturally.
- Encourage Engagement – Remind students that Student Life is a safe space to ask questions and seek guidance.
- Highlight that volunteers are available to support them with upcoming events like track meets, band, theatre, or any extracurricular activities.
- Wrap-Up & Transition – Students are free to leave when the bell rings.
- Be approachable — make sure students know you are genuinely interested in them.
- Model respect and grace in all interactions.
- Affirm student involvement — encourage them to share their passions and activities with the group.
- Keep the environment welcoming — every student should feel seen, heard, and loved.
Thursday- Baker 6th Grade

- Set up the Student Life banner and begin playing the Student Life Playlist on the speaker.
- Students will eat lunch in the cafeteria and then join us in the gym.
- As they arrive, greet them warmly (high fives, fist bumps, compliments, etc.).
- Encourage them to join the group and remind them that everyone belongs.
- Welcome & Instructions – Briefly explain the day’s game(s) and set the tone: this is about having fun, building character, and teamwork.
- Character-Building Games – Lead students in interactive games that emphasize:
- Respect — treating each other well, even in competition.
- Integrity — making good choices even when no one is watching.
- Kindness — encouraging and supporting one another.
- Teamwork — celebrating wins and efforts together.
- Reward Positive Behavior – Actively watch for students who model respect, integrity, and kindness, and reward them with on-the-spot prizes.
- Tickets for Bear Time – Pass out tickets to select students for the Friday morning Bear Time meeting.
- Wrap-Up & Transition – Send students back to the cafeteria 3 minutes before the bell for teacher pick-up.
- Keep it fun and engaging — laughter and energy help students participate.
- Encourage every voice — make sure quieter students are seen and heard.
- Model Christlike love and respect in words, actions, and attitude.
- Celebrate character, not just winning — focus on positive behaviors like respect, integrity, and kindness.

- Place Bibles and Student Life shirts on the table where they are visible to students.
- A Student Life volunteer will be in the cafeteria during lunch to gather students and escort them to the classroom.
- As they arrive, greet them warmly (high fives, fist bumps, compliments, etc.).
- Encourage students to sit near each other and try sitting with someone new to build community.
- Opening Question – Begin with a question related to that week’s topic to spark conversation.
- Student-Led Discussion – Allow students to lead the discussion by asking questions and sharing what’s on their hearts. Be patient, especially in the early weeks, as trust and relationships grow.
- Encouragement & Engagement – Reward students who engage and ask questions with fruit snacks, candy, stickers, etc..
- Wrap-Up & Transition – End discussion early enough to return students to the cafeteria before the bell.
- Be present — give students your full attention.
- Create safety — let students know their questions and struggles are welcome.
- Model Christlike love and respect in every interaction.
- Guide gently — offer spiritual wisdom without taking over the conversation.
Special Note
- After A lunch, there will be a 20-minute gap between lunches. Use this time to reset the room, pray over the next group, and prepare to engage with fresh energy.
